Filter can suddenly not run. Slow flow shows
the sign. Below three cases are main reasons.
First, when we use Wellspring for a long
time while not pretreating.
If you filter contaminated water which contains
coarse-grained materials, without pretreatment, the pores can get clogged by the
particles. So if the water has visible sized particles, make sure you pretreat
the water first. In this case, try to take Wellspring apart. You will see that a
lot of visible foreign substances are piled up on AF and DF filter. Then what
should we do with the filter? Just wash it with running water. If you hand-rub the
filters like when you do laundry, it can be torn.
Second, when the AF is used for a long
time.
AF removes organic matter by absorbing thus
if AF contains a lot of organic matter, flow rate can be decrease. It cannot be
used after a certain period of time (maximum 6 months). But this is the average
period so if you filter relatively clean water such as rain water, Wellspring
can be used longer than the average period. After replacing AF filter, you can
get clean water again.
Third, when using hollow fiber membrane
without backwashing.
As mentioned in the instructions, hollow
fiber membrane becomes less efficient without backwashing.
If you do not backwash Wellspring for
months, you can still get clean water but the flow rate will decrease and
eventually clean water will not run. So how about backwashing Wellspring at
least once a week and using it for a long time?
