Portable water purifier;Wellspring; FAQ 3. How long can it be used?

Wellspring is composed of hollow fiber membrane, activated carbon and pretreatment filter. Like all other water purifier, each filter can be used for a different period of time. But the difference is that customer can replace and cleanse filters in Wellspring by themselves.

 

Hollow fiber membrane can be used semi-permanently if it is well preserved.

Below are the proper methods.

 

1.     Proper choice of raw water: rain water, ground water which is already pretreated and ground water which is not contaminated from heavy metal or arsenic.

2.     Pretreatment of raw water: if the raw water contains a lot of floating particles, pretreat the water with a cloth before using Wellspring.

3.     Proper backwashing at a proper time: backwash Wellspring with clean water two or three times a week.

4.     Dehydration and freeze protection: when not using Wellspring for a long time, keep Wellspring soaked in a sealed plastic bag.

5.     Microorganism management: avoid direct sunlight and keep it in a refrigerator so that microorganism cannot self-reproduce.

 

Even after proper management, consider that pollution level of water is different and it is hard to analyze for users, so we recommend to use hollow fiber membrane for 2 years for a family of four assuming that the family use Wellspring for producing drinking water.

 

Activated carbon(AF) is influenced by concentration of organic matter in raw water. It can filter up to 500L but it depends on raw water. There is no additional way to check the proper time to replace the filter so when you taste or smell bad, something please replace filter.

 

 

Pretreatment filter(DF) should be replaced when AF is replaced.
